Frequently asked questions

Do my players need to install the app or create an account?

No. When a host invites you, you get a text message with a link. Tapping it lets you respond right away — and if you don't have the app, a simple web page lets you tell the host you're in. There is no username or password: your phone is your identity.

How do I invite players to my game?

Create a game, then use Speed Invite to pick people from your own phone contacts. ClockwiseCards helps you send the invites as text messages from your own phone, so your players simply get a normal text from you with a link to reply — Join List or Can't make it.

How does signing in work, and why does it involve my phone number?

ClockwiseCards ties your account to your phone and device instead of a password. The first time you open a host's invite link, the app confirms the number that host invited and signs you in automatically. We never send texts on your behalf and never post to your contacts.

How do players check in at the table?

On game day the host displays a QR code at the table. Players scan it to mark themselves as present. There is no self-serve "I'm here" button — scanning the host's live code is what confirms someone actually showed up.

Is ClockwiseCards free? Does it involve money?

The app is free to use for organizing your games. ClockwiseCards is purely a scheduling and reliability tool — it does not process payments or move money between players. It is about who is coming to the table, not what happens at it.

What can other people see about me?

Players see who is on the list and how many are coming — not each other's private details. Hosts see reliability information, like how often invited players follow through, to help them fill the table. Your phone contacts never leave your device.

How is my contact and personal data handled?

We collect only what the app needs to run — your name, phone number, and the games you're part of. Contacts you choose to invite are used on your device to send those invites; we do not upload your address book or sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my account and my data?

In the app, go to Profile → Delete account — this permanently erases your account and all associated data, and cannot be undone. If you can't access the app, you can request deletion from our account-deletion page or email [email protected].

I found a bug or need help. How do I reach you?

Email [email protected] and we'll do our best to get back to you within 48 hours.
